About Renee

Renee exhibits a warm and deep level of compassion towards her clients. A licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of experience in the field, Renee has worked in a variety of settings including mobile therapy, in schools with at-risk students, and in private practice with individuals, couples and families. Renee received her bachelor of science degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and her master’s in education degree in School Counseling from Duquesne University.

With her knowledge of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy, as well as her friendly and genuine approach, Renee helps clients resolve problems  in a thoughtful, empathetic, and professional manner. Renee believes in the foundation of family and understands how the intricacies of family dynamics affect our lives. Achieving self awareness and necessary life skills, such as stress management and assertiveness, are a few of the concepts Renee holds in high-regard.

In her established private practice in the South Hills, Renee offers a non-judgmental, safe, comfortable, and healthy approach to therapy. She serves a variety of populations including children, adolescents, young adults, couples and families. Renee will help you set goals to resolve life-stressors so you can feel happier overall and enjoy the life you deserve.

About Melissa D Michel, LPC

I provide psychotherapy to adolescents, couples, and families as well as educational planning services. I have extensive experience in diagnostic psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have published social psychology testing materials at the University of Pittsburgh while working on several major nationally funded depression and anxiety studies. I also have extensive evaluation and legal consultation experience. I have a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Chatham University, and did my undergraduate work in Psychology and English Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. I worked on depression and anxiety studies both before and after graduate school at The University of Pittsburgh under distinguished and published psychiatrists and psychologists. I did my clinical training focusing on depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders. I have years of experience working with couples and families in a private practice psychotherapy settings.
